Sometimes, you just can't help but DANCE!

Anytime there is music playing, Emma notices it right away. I was watching the music channel, and this song came on and I guess she just couldn't help it! She started droppin' it like it's hot!! She must get the skills from her Momma.

Long Distance Love

Emma really enjoys books, and will usually choose a book to play with over her other toys. She especially loves the book from Grandma Entwistle, that she got when she was about 5 months old. She has recently figured out how to make the music turn on, and loves to turn the pages and watch the lights as the music plays. This video is for you Grandma Entwistle!

We all have a weakness...

I am listening to Incubus' album "Light Grenades", and the song "Dig" is playing. I am waiting for my videos to upload, so I thought I would post the lyrics to this song for you all to ponder. I found this song during my pregnancy, and it gave me the chills as I listened to the lyrics. I am reminded by this song, that we are all human, and we all have weakness'. When those we love do things we don't love, remember that we all have something that digs at us, that we are trying to overcome. Oh, and I may or may not have a major crush on Brandon Boyd (lead singer of Incubus). Have you seen his cute face? Nuff' said.

Dig Lyrics
Artist(Band):Incubus

We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify.
Look me in the eye
and ask for forgiveness;
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again.
Yes, you are my friend.

We all have something that digs at us.
At least we dig each other.
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday.

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

We all have a sickness
That cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try.

We all have someone that digs at us.
At least we dig each other.
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine.

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohh
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, ohhhh

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me.
Sing this song!
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone.

Look at the new things I can do!

I sometimes miss the new baby stage, where Emma would fall asleep in my arms and I could just hold her and snuggle with her all day.  I guess that's why some women have more babies huh? Hmm...

I am, however, loving this stage of Emma's life, where you can see her making the connection of how things work, and how excited she gets when she figures things out. She recently learned how to clap her hands, dance, and "give loves". Here's a video of her doing all three:

 We love our Emma!

Christmas 2011!

We had a great Christmas this year! We spent time with family, watched Emma open her presents, and ate lots of delicious food. The only thing missing was not having Matt's family around for Christmas :( We were able to Skype with them Christmas morning, and they were able to see Emma open her presents. It's not the same, but it will have to do for now! I can't believe another year is about to pass by, it feels like the year just flew away from me. We have had a great year, and I can't wait to see what 2012 holds for our family. Here's the pictures from our Holiday-

Christmas Mod Podge

I made these for my Mom, Grandma, and Matt's Mom this year for Christmas. Matt's Momma got hers in the mail today, so I can post pictures now of the end result! These are photo blocks I made from blocks of wood that I bought from The Wood Connection. These took way less time than Emma's letters, and still turned out really cute!

If you are interested in making someting crafty like this, let me know and I will show you how! It's really just an excuse for me to be crafty too!!

Binky Fun

Matt was playing with Emma, and this was a fun game she came up with. She is growing too fast! I love to see her little mind grow and develop, and she figures things out so fast! I love how in this video, she waits for Matt to find her binky (that she spit out) so that she can spit it out again. So fun! I love being a Momma!

The wonderful world of Mod Podge

Who ever knew that something that looks like this:
Can help to make something like this:

Thanks to my friend Anne, I am now a Mod Podge fanatic! We started our project on Friday night, around 10p.m., and I didn't end up leaving her house until 2:00 a.m., and I still wasn't done! I was so obsessed about finishing my project, that I couldn't sleep, and finally crawled out of bed to finish it at about 7:00 a.m. So, after 5 hours of sleep, and relentless sanding and painting, it was done! To my defense, the letters take longer (plus don't forget my perfectionist ways)! You've got to sand and then paint, and then glue, and then sand, and then modge podge. Phew! I remember how much I like to be crafty, and as long as I have an outline of what to do, it's great! I used to scrapbook all the time, and one or two pages would usually take me 2 hours to complete. This is a whole new level of craftiness! I made Christmas Mod Podge presents, but I can't post pictures until next week, don't want to ruin the surprise for the receivers! :)

Anne also introduced me to The Wood Connection which is where I bought the unfinished wood letters. They have all sorts of amazing projects there, just waiting to be modged podged!! My only dilemma now, is finding the time for my crafts. Emma goes to sleep at 8 p.m., so between 8:30 and 10:00 will have to be my craft hours. I'll take what I can get!

I heart Mod Podge!!

Mirror, Mirror on the wall....

Emma loves to hang out in front the mirror in her bedroom, and watch herself play. I caught her in the act one day, and had to film it. Too cute. There are two videos, the first one made me laugh because she stuck out her mile long tongue and watched herself lick the mirror. The second video she starts to make funny faces at herself, which just cracked me up. I am so glad we have a video camera handy, for all of these crazy Emma moments. She makes me the happiest Momma in the whole world!

Fun times with Dad

Emma and Matt are buddies, they play all the time and have so much fun together. Matt is just as silly as Emma is, so she loves to see what crazy things he will do to make her laugh. This is one of my favorite Daddy/daughter moments, plus it's proof that Matt actually does change diapers :) Thanks Matty, for being such a great Dad to Emma.

Who knew couch pillows could be so much fun?!

Emma started doing this all on her own, and we have obviously encouraged it because it's so cute. She will just start bouncing, whether it's on her knees, on toys, or in this case, couch pillows. Gosh, she does the cutest stuff!!

Emma's favorite Binky

Emma and Matt always make the fun videos, and here's the perfect example. We have so many Binky's for Emma, but of course she only likes one particular brand. This is Matt giving Emma all her Binkys to see which one she'd keep in her mouth.

Halloween 2011

Better late than never, right?! Halloween wasn't that big of a deal this year, since Emma is still too young to really enjoy it. I took her to Matt's work and then to my Mom's work, where she got lots of candy that, unfortunately, she couldn't have! I ended up having to eat most of it, it was a hard job, but that chocolate couldn't go to waste! Halloween was on a Monday this year, so we did go around the neighborhood with our neighbor and her kids. Emma ended up getting some more sweets that I again, had to consume. The weekend before Halloween we carved pumpkins at my Mom's house and watched The Nightmare Before Christmas (my all time fav). Emma was a frog and a ladybug :) Here are the pictures:

This costume was from Grandma Entwistle, but Emma didn't love it so much- there were no leg holes. I didn't think about that before we got it!
