Photo Shoot
We had a little photo shoot today after Emma woke up from her nap, so I thought I'd post some pictures. She is figuring out her coordination a little bit, and is really trying to reach for things. Grandma Esau bought her a lil chick toy for Easter that she loves to stare at and focus in on. You can tell she wants to grab it, and almost has the hand/eye coordination down. She also loves to stare at her legs and feet while she kicks, and can keep herself entertained for a while doing that.

Death by Chocolate
I've had a couple people ask for this recipe, so here it is- courtesy of Matt's dad :)
1 lb. semi-sweet chocolate chips (I bought 2 12 oz. packages)
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 pint heavy cream
6 extra large eggs (room temperature)
-Spray spring pan with oil
-Whip eggs in blender and set aside
-Melt butter over stove until liquid, then add chocolate slowly and reduce heat so chocolate doesn't burn (I used about a bag and a half of chips for this part)
-When chocolate and butter are combined, add to whipped eggs
-Pour mixture into spring pan and bake at 375 degrees- 6 minutes uncovered and 12 minutes covered over a shallow pan of hot water. (I put tinfoil under the spring pan so no water got in).
-While that's baking, pour cream into a pot and heat just until scalding- remove from heat and add the remaining chocolate chips (I had a little less than half a bag, and only used about half of the cream) It should be a medium to thick consistency. Add more milk or chips until you get it to that point.
-Remove spring pan from oven when finished, slowly pour cream/chocolate mixture over cooked chocolate
-Refrigerate until cake is firm (it takes a couple hours, I let set up overnight) and enjoy!!
I've only made this once, so hopefully it works out for you! It may take a couple of tries to get it just right. I am about to make a second one soon!

Grandparent's visit
The weekend of the sealing and Emma's baby blessing, Matt's parents were able to fly in and visit from Illinois. They were so excited to see Emma (especially Matt's Mom). Matt took a video, but it's not uploading here. I'll see if I can get it working so I can post it up.
They were here for 10 days, and it was so great having them here-- our dishes and Emma's bottles were always clean! Matt's dad made me "death by chocolate"cake, which was amazingly delicious. I ate the whole cake pretty much on my own. We miss them so much, and hope they can move out to Utah soon!! Here are some pictures from their visit:

Entwistle Sealing
On March 26th, 2011, Matt, Emma, and I were sealed to eachother in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It was such an amazing experience- the whole day was wonderful. Matt and I were able to sit in the celestial room together while we waited for everyone to arrive, and it was a very surreal moment. I loved listening to the promises of the sealing between husband and wife, and when they brought Emma in I about lost it. She was such a good baby and didn't make a peep, just gave Grandma Entwistle a huge smile at the altar. I am so thankful that we are able to be with our families together for eternity. Thanks to everyone who came to support and help with everything, we appreciate and love you all! We had a couple pictures taken, but it was pretty windy and cold, so we are going to reschedule and do an official family portrait when the weather is nicer. Here's a couple from the temple:

New Arrival
Ok, found a little bit of motivation to blog...
So I "evicted" my sweet baby girl on Sunday night 2/27/11, but she still wasn't ready. I was in labor for 26 hours before she decided it was time. Emma Claire Entwistle was born 2/28/11 @ 9:40 p.m. All this baby stuff is so new to me, and there's no way anyone could have tried to prepare me for it! The labor was intense, I had shooting neck and shoulder pain during contractions, and there was no pain control for it. Matt took a picture of my contractions on the monitor, and there were little jagged lines on all the really painful ones. It was bad! Luckily after only 45 minutes of pushing she came out happy and healthy. We absolutely love her.
Matt went back to work last Tuesday, so for the last 2 weeks it's been me and Emma at home. I was so excited for the pregnancy to be over, so that I could be rid of all the pains and aches, but you really just exchange the prego pains for sleepless nights and for me, "downstairs" repair pain (I had a 2nd degree tear. Ugh). I'm learning as I go, luckily I have had some great experience with my nieces and nephews, but this is definitely a full time, 24 hour job!! I rarely have time to brush my teeth or wash my face, two things I used to do on a routine basis. I'm very lucky if I get time for lunch, or even a snack! Between feeding her every 2-3 hours, pumping breast milk, and trying to keep the house clean, I just can't find any time for myself. That's been rough!! Matt does get home home and relieves me of my Mommy duties so I can at least shower. She is an absolute angel and even though it's been hard to adjust, it is so worth it. I love being a Mom and taking care of Emma.
She is very mellow (she gets that from Matt) and doesn't really mind much. She only cries when she is hungry, poopy, or tired. We even went to the doctor yesterday and they gave her a vaccine, and she only cried for about a minute during the initial needle poke, and then fell right to sleep. She is a very relaxed baby, which makes it great for first time parents!
We are very excited for next weekend, when we will all be sealed as a family. Matt's parents are also coming down, and we are all very excited for that too! Next weekend will be crazy for sure- Saturday is the sealing, then a family brunch- Sunday is her blessing in church, followed by another family dinner. I've got to find some time to buy a dress for Saturday as well. Yikes! Anyways, here are some pictures of our little angel.

These were my contractions, if you look closely the jagged lines were the worst part. |
Finally here! |
SO tired. |
she was a bit jaundice, so they had to put her under these lights. It was so hard to see her in there! |
These are her toes. Matt and I both have long toes, and she has them too! |

Eviction Notice
Baby Emma:
You have prolonged your stay and shown us that you are not coming out on your own. I love you, but I absolutely cannot wait another week to have you here with us! You are hereby given your official eviction notice for Sunday, February 27th. You may still check out before then if you would like, and we won't have to evict. It is your choice! Your stay at the Hotel Uterus is coming to an end; I hope you've enjoyed the amenities for the last 10 months. Comment cards are not available, but you can cry if you want to.
Best Regards,
Mom and Dad

Anniversary Book
This is an easy post, and I have a few moments of time before Emma wakes up :) I made this book on Shutterfly's website for Matt for our anniversary. It turned out so great and it was delivered last week. These are so much fun to make and so easy! I put pictures of us, and some of our favorite song lyrics in it to go with the pictures.
