4th of July 2012

I contemplated the 4th of July this year, and it was to keep Emma awake for the fireworks or not. We tried to take her around with us last year when she was about 5 months old, and the poor thing was wiped out by 6 p.m. We decided against a late night firework show, especially since the next day would be a work day, and we would have to get her up at 6:30 in the morning. We did however, head over to our friend's house (The wonderful McRae's), to have some water fun, bbq food, and early fireworks. It was perfect, and Emma was able to be in bed by 9 p.m.

Emma had fun playing with her Kami and Kadan in the pool, and also walked around the entire night with a big girl cup that she refused to put down. When it came time for fireworks, she didn't understand the concept of fire danger, and wanted to walk right up to them as they were going off. After she found out that was a, "no-no", she could care less about the loud and bright fireworks. So glad we didn't keep her up for a firework show that she probably wouldn't have had any interest in.

We had a great day with our friends, it is so fun to watch Emma with Kami and Kadan. It is really as if they are her siblings, they play so well together, and she gets the biggest smile on her face when I tell her we are going to see them. We got some great pictures of the kids too, we hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday!
