Moments Caught On Camera

I know I posted this on my FB page, but I wanted to post this on my blog, so that when I turn it into a book, Emma will be able to see how much her Dad loves her.

The other night, Matt started to read to Emma, and she sat so content in his lap with her little feet crossed and listened. It was the cutest thing, and I am so glad I got a picture of it. This is my desktop photo at work, and every time I look at it, my heart melts all over again. 

This is what makes being a parent worth it. Matt is such a great Dad to Emma, and she loves him so much! I have the best family in the world.

Birthday Party Planning Committee

As a Mom, you volunteer yourself to be on the birthday party planning committee. Now, 6 months away, it may not seem like such a big deal. You plan to order some balloons, make or order a cake, and let the kids do their thing. The anxiety hits when you realize the party is oh, 2 days away, and you don't really know what you're going to do, or what the theme of the party will be, and you start to see that it is definitely a big deal.

Hi, that's me right now, and if I make it through this weekend successfully, I deserve chocolate every day for a week! (Don't worry, I'll treat myself)

Time, it's TIME that is my enemy right now. I haven't had the time until today, to sit down and really think about what I'm going to do. I am so busy at work, and I have good intentions of trying to plan things on my lunch break, but it doesn't happen... because I have been too busy at work to take a lunch break! Working 10 hour days is killer, because I get home just in time to feed Emma, do bath time, and get her to bed. Then I go to sleep to do it all over again. So normally, I would use my Friday off to buy and make and prepare everything. But I have thrown something else into the mix, and that is Emma's 1 year old birthday pictures. So getting it all done tomorrow is not realistic either. I am already so anxious about how her pictures will turn out, and if she will be happy or not, etc...that when I get home, I may just need to DE-stress from that whole experience.

Yep. I'm venting. Not sure how it will all turn out. Is it bad form to just skip the first birthday party all together? *sigh*

I will most likely end up wandering the aisles of Walmart at 10 p.m. on Friday night, trying to find everything I need, and then come home and prepare and bake until my eyes are so bloodshot they pop out of their sockets. (too much?)

Turning Your Blog Into A Book

This is a website I found while searching, "how to put your blog on paper". I love having the physical copy in front of me. No matter how convenient the internet is, it will never be the same as having that printed picture in front of you to hold. The site is called Blog2Print and all you have to do is enter in your blog address, and it does the rest for you! You can choose the type of cover and what colors you'd like your pages to be, and submit it to be printed. It's $14.95 for a 20 page soft cover, and each additional page is .35 cents-- since I use this primarily to document Emma's life, it's something I will definitely do. I think I'll make a book once a year, or maybe even once every 6 months, depending on how much I blog. When I make one, I will let you know how it turns out, and if you make one before I do, let me know how it turned out! :)

Emma's Fortress

Yesterday while I was home with Emma, I had to vacuum and mop the floors, and I didn't want Emma to be crawling around on the wet tile right after I washed it. We have two baby gates, one usually blocks the second bathroom where the kitty box is, and the other blocks the entrance to our bedroom-- because let's face it, that room hardly ever gets vacuumed, and she is magnetized to every small object on the floor. Well between our bedroom and the living room, there is a mini hallway, and I just put up the baby gates at both ends and put some toys in there for her to play with as I cleaned. Little did I know, that this would turn into the greatest idea I've ever had. She loved it, so much that I don't know if she even remembered I was there. I have noticed recently, that she enjoys playing on her own. She will get mad and scream at us if we follow her too close as she plays. She likes to be left alone sometimes as she plays, and doesn't like it when we hover. I will go check on her in her room, and she is looking at her books, or playing with her toys contently on her own. It makes sense to me now, why she enjoys her little play area so much, I just can't believe I didn't think of it sooner. Last night, while Matt and I ate dinner, we put her in there to play, and not kidding-- she played in there for an hour until bedtime, which we had almost forgotten about because she was so content. I just love her and her easygoing personality! She has been too easy on us, and we love her for that! Here's the video we took and some pictures of her playing in her fortress--- notice in the video, where she pays little attention to the fact that Matt is even recording her, too cute!

Emma walking... kind of (with help)

Ok so she's not walking on her own yet, but she's close ( I know, I said that with her crawling too, just go with it). Grandma and Grandpa Entwistle bought her a walking toy for Christmas, and she's recently started to pull herself up on her own, and pushing it around as she walks behind it. She will push it and talk while she walks, until she runs into a wall. She'll then look at us, and we will redirect her, and she'll continue. She just hasn't gotten the courage quite yet to take those steps on her own. She's close!!! :)

Emma Stars In, "The Attack of The Baby Doll"

That's right, Emma is starring in yet another feature film-- produced by me, and filmed by Matthew Entwistle. Matt is an up and coming cinematographer, you may have seen his recent work, "EmmaZilla", and "The EmmaWitch Project". Emma was pretty excited to film this movie, and has been practicing her "screaming" skills every day leading to this film. She's a natural! Hope you enjoy! :)
